Porters Wood, Hertfordshire, is less than two miles from the centre of St. Albans, a short drive from the Harpenden Road, and should take less than ten minutes in the car, so long as the traffic is kind!

The area of Porters Wood itself holds nothing of an historical context, but has areas of new development, with the average house price in the region of half a million. For something really special, then it’s worth checking out the facilities at Knebworth House – just eight miles from Porters Wood. The house itself, set in 250 acres of wonderful parkland, has been home to the Lytton family since 1490, and boasts a number of venues within its expansive grounds, all available to hire.

As well as the 500-year old House, there are also the 16th century Tithe Barns, the brand new Lytton and Cobbold Barns, and ten marquee sites, all available to hire for festivals, away days, team building, fun days, birthday parties etc. – the list is endless!
